2014- Ch.ACO does not stop
Ch.ACO is the most important art milestone in the country and a cultural benchmark in Latin America. The fair, which is successfully embedded into the world's art fairs agenda, has as its objective to create networks and links, both in trade matters and in the cultural distribution of the region, and this way, develop and consolidate the local scene.
The fair takes place at Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho, with 15 national and 14 foreign galleries that present more than 800 art pieces, gathering 50,000 people. Furthermore, this edition will exhibit for the first time three important national collections, with the intention of promoting the practice of collecting as an engine for the country's cultural development.
The Pop_Up Spaces section, through a jury of experts, chose 12 spaces throughout Chile that stand out for their creative concept and business model, which have the opportunity to show their projects at the fair, making their insertion in the national and international market easier.
This year's discussion panel tries to make the local public get used to the contemporary art's very own language and it is entitled "Art market: myths, fantasies and realities", co-edited by Irene Abujatum and Claudio Iglesias. To address these topics, experts from the contemporary art scene such as Vivian Pfeiffer, Katya Tylevich, Manuel Cirauqui, Manuela Moscoso, Iván Navarro, Enrique Farías, Joel Yoss y Pablo León de la Barra, among others are invited.
